Four years ago my husband and I decided to launch nmctoys.com. At the time our children were two and four years old. The prior six months or so was a media frenzy about toxic toys. As we looked through our children’s toys, we realized we had many of those toxic toys that had been recalled. As parents, we know that life is stressful enough. When you give your child something to play with, you want the peace of mind of knowing that your child is playing with a safe product. I decided to simplify the search for safe toys by creating a website where people could go to as a one stop shop. Most of what you will find at nmctoys.com is made right here in the USA. We buy from small businesses that have been making toys for years. These companies do not outsource the manufacturing overseas. The supply chain is not left in the control of an outside party and your toy is not made in a factory that is allowed to pollute the environment. When you buy from nmctoys.com you are supporting small businesses in the USA and helping the local economy.
The toys on our site are built to last unlike much of what is available at big box stores. Have you had a birthday gift break the day your child opened it? Why not have toys that will last for your children and their children. In the end, it costs less to buy a quality product that will last rather than a substandard product that will break and need to be replaced. You may pay a small premium now but as the saying goes, “You get what you pay for.”
As I continue to search for quality educational toys for your children and mine, I have found even more earth friendly items. We have always had
renewable wood but now, we have things like
organic cotton stuffed animals and
toys made from recycled milk jugs. Children can see the benefits of recycling at a young age and carry that knowledge with them throughout their lives. We also have an extensive selection of toys suitable for children with special needs.
I just want to thank all of you for supporting nmctoys.com these past few years. So many of you keep coming back and we appreciate that so much. It is because of you that this small business is still up and running!
